Becoming A Virtual Assistant - A company profile
A Virtual Assistant Article
Following 15 years in the legal field, primarily giving advice on Family Law issues, our Virtual Office Partner, Jo suffered a period of ill health, and foolishly thought that she could retire!
Two months later she was “climbing the walls” and J & S Support Services was born!
It was at first to be “a hobby”. Something to, “keep her mind occupied”. “A little something” for her to do in the afternoons!
As with most things in life, “Murphy's Law” caught Jo out, and her “hobby” turned out to be more of a lifestyle change, she became a Virtual Assistant!
From helping a friend out, by taking telephone calls for her in the afternoon,
to typing the “odd” bits and pieces for an old colleague, the odd spreadsheet
and dateable management here and there, J & S Support Services - Virtual
Office was born, and now operate from offices in the Wigan area, and has remote
workers throughout the North West of England, dealing in all manner of office
services.
Clients come from the local area, nationwide and international, with instructions coming from the USA, Germany, Bulgaria and Spain, as well as Ireland, Scotland and Wales. A Virtual Office has no boundaries!
Then came another “favour” for a friend! Assisting with the planning of a wedding and reception.
Quickly followed by yet another favour, organising a 3 day conference! Thus J & S Support Services – Event Management was born!
By this time, Jo’s husband, Steve, had given up his employment to join the team and with his valuable experience gained whilst serving for 14 years with Her Majesty's Forces, with the Corps of Royal Military Police, in various theatres throughout the world, and his organisational experience gained during his many varied roles throughout his career in the Armed Forces, Steve has brought both organizational skills, experience in security issues at various levels, and much needed discipline to the Company structure.
J & S Support Services have recently opened an IT Support Department, as part of their Support Services, and clients now have access to both remote, and on-site assistance, to ensure that their businesses run smoothly.
Corporate Hospitality clients now have the option to have satellite link-up, no matter where their event is being held, whether it be on a beach or in the middle of a field, to impress their clients and gain further business.
Website design and hosting is all part of the IT Support package and can be tailored to each individual requirement.
Jo has had extensive experience as a P.A. with a large Company and has had experience of running a small retail business of her own, J & S Support Services are therefore well aware of the problems which small businesses and sole traders can encounter, as well as the problems which can affect larger firms.
J & S Support Services are constantly looking to improve and develop our services, and our clients can be assured of a professional but friendly and flexible service at all times.
